You'll find a Winter Wonderland wherever you look. Fill your days with ice skating, sleigh rides, skiing or snowshoeing. Enjoy the best cross-country skiing in the East right here at Jackson's Ski Touring Center. Great Glen Trails is only a short distance towards Mount Washington where the views are irresistible. Ride the Snow Coach to above treeline for a mountain experience you only dreamed of or drive part of the scenic 100 mile route for winter vistas in every direction.

If Alpine skiing is your cup of cocoa, you're in the right place. Black Mountain, a family friendly mountain, is right in the village of Jackson. Wildcat Mountain, at Jackson's highest reach, was one of the first ski areas in the country and offers a true New England skiing experience. Attitash with both skiing and boarding is only a few miles away. Not much farther away you can ski or tube at Cranmore is in North Conway or drive up Crawford Notch to Bretton Woods.

A crackling fire and warm refreshments greet you when you return to the inn. The evening is a perfect time for a romantic sleigh ride, either before or after a candlelight dinner. Many of the pubs feature local musicians in the evening.

In late January or early February Jackson is home to the New Hampshire Snow Sculpting Competition. Visitors can stroll through the village park to view Snow Sculptors at work night and day to complete their work in time for judging. Since some sculptors stay at the inn, there's a chance to chat with them personally. The competition winner goes on to National competition.

February brings the romance of Valentine's Day and then President's Day Weekend, all great excuses for a getaway. At the Inn, we believe Valentine's is a state of mind and not a day, so our Valentine's celebration lasts all month. This is the month of Winter Festivals as well, offering great fun and activities.

March brings great spring skiing and sugaring season, where you can watch the delicious treat we serve with all our pancakes being made. When sugaring ends, the buds are turning to blossoms again.

  • December - March Mt. Washington Snow Coach (to the treeline on the Auto Road) is open - weather permitting.
