A White Mountain Foliage Drive Less Traveled
During early October, enjoy a beautiful White Mountain foliage drive that highlights a trip over winding roads from North Conway, NH to the Saco River valley in Western Maine, north through Evan’s Notch, then south past Mount Washington and the Eastern slopes of New Hampshire’s Presidential Range to Jackson, NH.
A Walk Through Jackson’s Historic District
The village of Jackson is fortunate to be the home of so many buildings of historical interest that The Jackson Falls Historic District was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2003. To view the 17 contiguous structures in the District, put on your walking shoes, grab your camera, and head up Route 16B.
Covered Bridges Circuit
Six of the 55 nineteenth century covered bridges in New Hampshire are within an hour’s drive from Jackson, and you can see all of them with a three hour scenic drive. All the bridges on the circuit are on or are eligible for listing on the National Register of Historic Places.
